From this perspective, the recent escalation appears as a post-soviet civil war, which some of the past EU leaders have dealt with diplomatic precaution.
The new ones decided to embrace rearmement and hazardous identitarian political posturings, the same inebriating cocktail which nurtured the escalations to WWI and WWII in Europe one century ago…
